So You Think You Can Dance: Rule Change No.3
Nigel has now tweeted that there will be no Top 20 in the American show this time round! *Gasps* (on behalf of our cousins across the pond - we only had a Top 14 anyway, so not so much a shock for us!) There's still more to come! He's such a tease, isn't he?

This likely came about from the fall season, where the first four eliminations were done by the judges due to the conflict with the World Series. What bothered me about that was putting the kids in the "special" Top 20, and then not allowing the fan vote to determine who has a chance to stay and who goes.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the judges selecting who goes in the first few rounds after they go to the live shows, but the live shows should always include the fan vote. Otherwise why bother?
Very true - the judges can ensure that everyone going through is of a high standard so they should sit back and let the audience decide thereafter for sure. I think they always have their faves though and will try to protect for as long as possible, I guess it's only natural!
