Strictly joins Streetdance: Where dance worlds collide!

Following a successful residency in the West End in 2012 where it attracted rave reviews, a brand new production of FLASH MOB will appear in Kent as part of a national tour.

The cast for this latest production includes Kevin Clifton and Karen Hauer from Strictly Come Dancing, Flawless from Britain’s Got Talent, and Dance Critic’s Choice winner and Olivier nominated Tommy Franzen from BBC1’s So You Think You Can Dance. Dubbed the modern day Romeo and Juliet by the media, contemporary duo Alleviate and Irish fusion couple Brosena, both from Sky 1’s Got To Dance, complete the impressive line-up.

If you’re new to dance, this show is the perfect introduction. FLASH MOB enables you to sample many styles from Latin to locking, from Celtic to contemporary and from street to Salsa.

The production climaxes with an exciting finale that is sure to see the entire audience on its feet, as it takes the show title to its literal conclusion when both cast and audience collectively experience the joy of dance through a shared FLASH MOB.

It will be the first theatre production to actively encourage social networking as an integral part of the show. Facebook and Twitter are used as tools to drive the storyline in the first act, so the audience will be invited to switch on their mobile phones and tweet as the show begins. It’s a hugely exciting concept to the many fans who engage with their dance heroes on social media.

Marina Blore, director of World Dance Management explains: “Many dancers work their way through weeks of competitive heats on TV with no public, live platform for their talent at the end of the programme. Whilst they may be offered A-list concert tours or West End shows, the dancers rarely get the chance to perform again in their own right.”

She added: “In this show the dancers have choreographed their own individual performances and with the help of Nick Winston, our artistic director and choreographer, we also show what can be achieved when these different dance genres are fused together. FLASH MOB enables the talent to showcase their work as part of a much bigger production.”

FLASH MOB is a celebration of dance, the art of movement, without the need to pigeon-hole or focus on any one genre, or an enforced or indulgent narrative. The intention is simply to celebrate dance as an art form that can “move” the audience emotionally.

Conceived and produced by World Dance Management, the show provides a platform for the amazing talent that has emerged from TV dance reality shows in recent years.

Kent Dates:

Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells – Saturday 21st June

Churchill Theatre, Bromley - Sunday, 29th June

Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury – Monday 7th July

Snippets: Ladies Who Lunge

Kirsty Swain, the partially deaf dancer who took part in Series 2 of So you Think You Can Dance, is one of the first people in the UK to use a newly designed water and shock proof hearing aid.

The Siemens Aquaris is the first instrument Kirsty has found that doesn't slip or move when she's dancing, meaning she can hear the music properly now, instead of relying on sound vibration or copying fellow dancers.

NO WAY! You have got to love those quotes ... Nancy, Nancy, who does your PR? They're brilliant! And little Chelsee, love her loads but really, no. Channelling positive thoughts to the BBC: *KarenHardy*KarenHardy*KarenHardy*KarenHardy* Seriously, an actual proper dance judge; a former professional winner on the show; the Queen of ITT Choreography; World Champion dancer; already in situ - why would they even begin to look elsewhere?

And depending on which paper you read, Christine Bleakley was a hit .. or a miss ... with Dancing on Ice fans! I just don't get the bitchiness towards presenters just doing a job, I really don't! Tess, and even Claudia, get stick too. Christine did as well as any other professional presenter would have done: she's warm, she didn't muck up - what is the problem with some people? There seems to be a section of our society that take to disliking people they don't even know with such venom, I find it so strange. There are those I don't admire, who I wouldn't switch the telly on to watch, but I don't feel the need to criticise every little thing about them in newspaper comment boxes or forums. Rant over. Off to get a life ...

Creative Arts Emmy Award for Nappytabs!

Nappytabs, or rather, husband and wife choreography team, Napolean and Tabitha D'umo have won an Emmy for their stunning lyrical hip hop choreography on the American series of So You Think You Can Dance.

Three performances were singled out: 'Twilex' Outta Your Mind you may be familiar with, it's a fixture in my links, plus Fallin by Comfort and Adechike, and Scars by Robert and Dominic - more scary Jokers than clowns! I agree with Adam - I thought the better dancer must have been the All Star Dominic and it turned out to be the contestant, Robert!

And check out Comfort and Twitch, just for the sheer joy of it!

So You Think You Can Dance: The Final!

I'm sure you're all well aware that our favourite dancer is the wonderful and stylish tap dancer Matt Flint (which I think has been pretty obvious from very early on!) So how did he make it so last night?

From the opening Pop Jazz Don't Stop Me Now with its aerial beginning, full of passion and energy, Matt pitched into a Jazz routine with Katie, looking very New Romantic, very Adam Ant (Cat agreed, I thought it was just me!) Dynamic, fluid and strong, both of them. Nigel concurred, Arlene called it a retro pleasure, Louise said Matt was different and quirky and Katie full of fire, while Sisco called them awesome and amazing.

Luke and Kirsty impressed with a Contemporary, almost uptempo routine considering the slow song, not as slick but more raw which added to the appeal. Louise tells Kirsty she's getting better and better and Luke that his flexibility is amazing; Sisco calls Luke a true survivior and found Kirsty's vulnerability appealing; Nigel was a little disappointed in comparison with last week; Arlene calls Kirsty honest and tells Luke he walks on air.

The solos and Katie looked a little tired, unsurprisingly, whereas Matt confirms what we all know in our hearts, tap dancing to Nina Simone, musicality, cheekiness, style, energy - just supreme. Kirsty is more inspiring in her VT if I'm honest, but a solid solo; Luke dabbles with a bit of hip hop amongst the gymnastics.

Matt takes Kirsty onward with a dreamy American Smooth foxtrot, his arms are gorgeous, lovely lines. Arlene says he's mastered the dance with grace and style, swing and sway and said Kirsty nailed the heel turn; Louise called it true romance; Sisco praised the commitment, heart and soul; Nigel said they had a beautiful connection, very special.

Katie and Luke follow wth a slick Artem created tango, very stylish and well presented, both held the intent, great timing. Arlene said they seduced her heart; Nigel said they didn't, not sharp enough; Sisco called it sexy, mysterious and enchanting; Louise called it dark and passionate.

Turns out Luke can tap dance - so they give him and Matt a Broadway tap dance to Putting on the Ritz. Fantastic routine by Bill Deamer, so entertaining, full of pizazz, spot on finish. Luke lost timing a couple of times but to keep anywhere near Matt was stunning. My typing might go off a bit here, because I just leapt out of my chair as Jenson Button overtook Vettel to win the Canadian GP - after six pit stops!! My hands are still shaking .... anyway, where was I? Nigel said they swapped styles in the middle; Arlene said it razzle dazzled with elegance; Louise said it doesn't get much better than this (rumours she'll be presenting Masterchef next series are being strongly denied) Sisco said it was great to see Matt in his element and Luke sailing away.

Katie and Kirsty's Broadway routine by Karen Bruce to Defying Gravity isn't the tidiest but is one of the happiest and I loved it. Full of joy in the movement. Sisco loved it; Louise tells Kirsty she lives and breathes it and Katie performed every bit and more; Arlene said Katie has a softness and appeal and Kirsty says everything about a girl who wants to dance; Nigel called them beautiful and said they both dance from the heart.

That was the main show, on to results with the Top 20 returning to a Party Poppers in the House Mandy Moore routine with our final four making an appearance towards the end. The judges choose their fave routines for the series - the boys Paso, Matt and Charlotte's Broadway (Lou); Matt and Katie's Contemporary, the boys Jazz routine (Arlene). Sisco loved the contestants growth and called them all inspirational; Nigel loved the boys' jazz routine and Bethany Rose in Kiss of the Spider Woman - everyone, at some point. And he said the true winner was dance!

We're losing two - first out, Kirsty! I'm surprised, I thought she might be closest to Matt. She's very sweet and so inspiring. Second out - Katie! Nigel was right, it's between the boys but first, it's Jennifer Lopez and another aerial appearance, complete with seatbelt, now she's On The Floor. Is she live? A bit of both, I think. What a star!

The Moment of Truth or, confirmation of what I've thought all along but didn't dare say out loud in case I put the mockers on - Matt wins! Now to hunt down all his routines on Youtube!

So You Think You Dance - Semi Final!

Cat's raided Sisco's wardrobe again! Big, uptempo opening number, not giving away who's dancing with who!

Five routines each! Five! Tough - that's a dancer's life, says Nigel. Arlene tells potential contestants for next season - go for it, one evicted dancer has been called for audition in the West End, following her performances on the show.

Judges comments on the semi-finalists: Kirsty - loveable, revelation in Argentine Tango and rumba, dark horse. Matt - chameleon, cute little package, personality and technique. Katie - a pleasure to watch, owns technique. Luke - exciting, raises his game every week, consistent. Bethany Rose - hungry, best technique of the girls. Lee - eccentric, weird and wonderful.

Brand new partnerships tonight and first out are Lee and Bethany Rose, with an Artem futuristic Cha Cha a la Ga Ga. WOW - superb routine, full of attitude, I saw enough cha cha within the theme to satisy me, plenty of tricks and basics, stunning!

Nigel said Lee was so strong and Bethany sensational. Arlene said Lee fizzled like champagne, it had a wow factor. Louise loved Lee's masculinity and said Bethany had everything working. Sisco told Lee he always delivers and Bethany was so convincing.

Solos: Kirsty, a sultry blend of contemporary and a little hip hop! Luke, his usual powerhouse performance.

Matt and Katie, Contemporary Mandy Moore and "the hardest dance of the series" - a double WOW, the height in that throw/lift at the start! Total eclipse of the heart, mind, body, spirit and soul - phenomenal performance from both, lyrical and emotive and that incredible flying leap from Katie into Matt's arms, stunning. Jeez, I'm exhausted too. How fantastic was that?
Louise said emotional and tremendous, Matt with great sense of style, Katie so beautiful. Nigel said Mandy excelled herself, both delivered.Arlene said she needs them both tonight and next week. Sisco called Matt technically fearless and he hates him; Katie is fearless, beautiful and breathtaking.

Solos: Bethany Rose with a beautiful lyrical piece, really upped her game. Lee, creative and bendy, definitely eccentric!

Luke and Kirsty and a Bill Deamer Broadway "swing with a Charleston rhythm" - another scorching hot routine delivered brilliantly, although Kirsty was a little behind Luke at times, her personality made up for it.
Sisco called it amazing, living and wanted to join them. Louise praised Luke's timing and Kirsty's characterisation.

Solos: Katie - confident and sassy.Matt - nice finish, great timing, loving the Happy Feet reference.

In respect of the solos, Arlene felt that Kirsty needs finesse; Matt is Fred, Gene and Flint; Bethany skims, so light; Katie gives you chills; Lee is werid and quirky. Sisco said every dancer proved themselves.

The Boys group dance - Paso Doble by Katya and Klaus, I'm excited already watching the training. Passion and power and hopefully topless. Oh, yes. And decent, proper music morphing seamlessly into the Pirates of the Caribbean theme. It's stunning, absolutely brilliant, best Paso I've seen in years. Everything perfect, attitude, attack, power, lines, delivery. Arlene said it had it all, delicious Spanish lines and fearless Lee, feisty Matt and Luke the Prince of Passion. Nigel said the Billy Eliot days of dads wanting their boys to be boxers are over!

The Girls with a Mandy Moore Contemporary. It's snowing. It's lyrical, elegant, lovely arm shaping and a beautiful routine. Another standation. Nigel called it beautiful and said Kirsty showed the required technique; Arlene called Bethany phenomenal and they all agree it'll be wrong to let one of them go tonight.

Louise said we've a tough job choosing (no, I've favourited Matt all through!) because everyone was brilliant. Sisco gives into his feelings and declares his favourite dance the Paso Doble Woof Woof...

Onto the results, opening with a Bill Deamer explosive Proud Mary 60s inspired routine - and you can't tell the girls apart with the speed the wigs (how did they stay on?) The leap by Katie to Matt in the recap still makes me catch my breath.

The one girl safely through is ... Kirsty! Could see that coming, leaving the judges with the choice they didn't want to make, Katie v Bethany. The one guy safely through is ... Matt!! Yippee!

Solos and Katie has a sight slip; Luke a more desperate performance; Bethany, quirky; Lee more eccentricity. The judges animated, while Glee's Matthew Morrison (Mr Schue) sings We've Got Tonight. *Channels Sue Sylvester* You think you can come over here and wrap us round your little finger wearing a frazzled hedgehog for hair ...and you do!

Nigel speaks: Girls, would like to have seen you both in the final but it's the public who decide and Bethany, you'll be leaving us (I thought she'd done enough tonight). Boys, we're unanimous, both unique, we love both, but leaving us is Lee.

So there we have it, the finalists are: Matt and Luke; Katie and Kirsty. And, guesting next week, the amazing all singing, all dancing Jennifer Lopez!

So You Think You Can Dance: Quarter Final Week

First of all though, I’m gutted I missed last week (bloomin’ holidays) and my fave girl, Katrina, went out! And I was too late for I-Player and I can’t even find videos for the whole show on Youtube! So, from what I can make out on the BBC highlights video, Katrina and Tom had a salsa and jazz numbers, Israel and Bethany with contemporary and Charleston, Matt and Charlotte, a disco and contemporary, Kirsty and Lee, Broadway and Hip Hop with Katie and Luke having a jazz and a Viennese Waltz.

BBC Youtube – why can’t you put all of them on there? Plus my internet is a complete pain in the aris, so the four vids I have found have taken me an hour to watch! *grumble grumble*
Matt and Charlotte’s contemporary was stunning. Hauntingly effective, beautifully delivered gorgeous choreography; Bethany and Israel’s contemporary was in fact a lyrical hip hop, which, whilst emotive and well danced, didn’t have the musicality and energy for me I expect from hip hop; Katie and Luke are a lovely partnership, well suited to the VW, fantastic movement, fluid and a gorgeous routine from current Strictly Come Dancing champ, Artem Chingvintsev; Kirsty and Lee grapple manfully with a Hip Hop, a fine effort, although neither of them ‘lived it’ as Sisco would say. And so I don’t even get to see what Katrina did or didn’t do so well that sees her out of the competition!

Moving on then, back to normal this week except we’re voting for individuals from now on in! They’ve been split into brand new partnerships, plus there are solos and group dances.

Katie and Israel with a Tyce Diorio Broadway to Roxy from Chicago and I’m lovin’ their attitude and timing, great partnership, very stylish routine.
Nigel said: I loved the style ...really proud of Israel’s growth in the competition and Katie is every inch a star.
Sisco said: Israel, you looked like a jazz dancer, you morphed into character.

Solos: Bethany Rose – bit frantic, lots of hairography; Luke – strong, powerful, fluid.

Charlotte and Lee and a Mandy Moore Contemporary – there’s a lot of trust evident, timing out a little, emotionally together. Charlotte did overdo the face a bit and it didn't grab me as much as it should have.
Louise said: Lee, you danced your way through each and every performance.
Arlene said: Lee B, stands for better and better!
Nigel said: I didn’t believe in it.

Solos: Kirsty, a bubbly number, well suited to her; Matt – tap dancing to Stevie Wonder? Works for me! “Tap makes me happy” Inspired by little penguins.

Bethany Rose and Luke and a Simeon Oysea Hip Hop which has great attitude but the timing is out, Luke awesome but Bethany struggled.

Sisco said: Luke, phenomenal, a great example of a professional dancer, convincing. Bethany, so thrown away, less complaining next time.
Louise said: I loved the energy, the buzz, Luke spot on, Bethany at times not fast enough.
Arlene said: Luke – Olympic; Bethany - popcorn exploding.

Solos: Katie – accomplished, sharp, falls really well; Israel – the timing and energy of hip hop gets me every time.

Kirsty and Matt – Rumba?! Oh, crikey ... Jaci and Chris on hand ... and oh, crikey – not only can he tap, Matt’s also got Hips and knows how to use them! Aye Carumba, sexy , sway, emotive – they nailed everything!
Nigel said: Sensual, terrific, hips, sway (and pervs after Kirsty.)
Arlene said: Kirsty – loved the technique.
Sisco said: Extremely sexual, both stunning, Matt every choreographers dream.

Solos: Charlotte, fast and fun, spinning like a mad spinney thing; Lee – B for bendy, very watchable.

Girls Group dance, a Sean Cheesman Jazz – they all blurred a bit for me there, apart from Katie who seemed more composed, although, according to Louise, the standouts were Kirsty and Bethany, feeling the sexiness.

Mandy Moore choreographs a Jazz for the boys and it’s brilliant – and all four are brilliant, with a very Michael Jackson inspired routine, strong, sharp, fantastic movement and blending together. Nigel said every single one was excellent, his fave routine in both series so far!

The Results!
Group dance by Katrin Wall to Rolling in the Deep and it’s amazing how they all let themselves go when there’s safety in numbers, fantastically styled, all very smooth and confident.

Matt, Kirsty, Luke and Katie all safe.

Girls in the danger zone – Bethany Rose’s solo is much the same and Charlotte is impassioned but I think it’ll be Charlotte going unless the judges feel that Bethany isn’t connecting with the public, second week at the bottom.

Boys in the danger zone – Israel still does hip hop but slower and it’s fab; Lee didn’t capture me as much but I think his overall performances may take it from Israel.

The Black Eyed Peas tell us not to stop the party while the judges deliberate.

Over to Nigel: Bethany, for some reason you’re not connecting ... you were best in the girls routine tonight. Charlotte – the vote was split tonight and I choose you to leave, you just need to grow in technique.

A real shame for Charlotte, because her routines with Matt have been the best throughout this series.

Back to Nigel: Israel, the entire panel agreed on you having the greatest journey, amazed at your development – but we’re unanimous that’s it’s your turn to leave us.

Semi Final next week! Matt versus Luke versus Lee; Katie versus Kirsty versus Bethany Rose!

So You Think You Can Dance: Four the love of dance ...

Sisco appears to be embracing Eurovision tonight ...it's Livage, darling.

Charlotte and Matt draw Lindy Hop, and I have to say, they're being jolly lucky I think, this will also suit them both, although oh-oh, hello Ryan Francois, love of frantic big lifts ... no need to worry, it's another WOW! They nail it again, the feel, the technique, these two really get it, full of energy and pizazz, so quick, so on it.

Nigel said: I'm exhausted just watching you, showed your passion and love of dance. Will be measuring everyone by you tonight.

Arlene said: It's just a short lindy hop to Hollywood.

Danielle and Luke have Lyrical Hip Hop by Kenrick, it's looking good in rehearsals, an excellent job I thought, coping well, full of emotion. Well done.

Sisco said: I loved the commitment of the characters; dramatic and sincere.

Arlene said: Luke, you are in it to win it, best I've seen you.

Israel and Bethany Rose, with a Sean Cheesman Commercial and it's by far the best Commercial, Bethany is fantastic - as the character of Black Widow with Israel her prey, he didn't stand a chance! And he totally showed why he made it through into the top 20, easily his best showing to date, superstrong performances from both.

Arlene said: Israel, you found your technique and expression.

Nigel said: You completely changed my mind about spiders ... on a par with the first couple.

Rithy and Shane teamed with Tyce Diorio for a Contemporary, which was beautifully executed but sadly didn't excite me, bit too much posiness. Bit gutted for them, they needed something bright and catchy.

Nigel said: Nicely danced but ... not sure.

Sisco said: A stripped performance, showed what you can do. Rithy, every week you show a different dimension.

Katie and Lee C, a Karen Bruce Broadway, and Katie is right back in it for me, personality and enjoyable routine. Lee more of a foil, not as sharp as he could be but great fun overall.

Arlene said: The worst I've seen Katie, have you lost your spirit?

Nigel said: A bit bland, Lee holding Katie back.

I think the judges were a little harsh, Katie and Lee are a good team but do need the split for Katie to grow.

Katrina and Tom draw Hip Hop again! Supple choreographs and it's a good try and enjoyable, full of energy considering Tom hadn't been able to train till Thursday. Not as sharp maybe, but Katrina is excellent.

Louise said: Katrina, you even had the head move going there *demonstrates*

Sisco said: Good and bad ... brave choreography.

Nigel said: Can we stop with the armography though, it's getting on my nerves.

Kirsty and Lee B pull a blinder with the Argentine Tango by Leonardo ... surname too long and disappeared too quickly! Thought it could suit with their connection and boy, does it. Oh, yes. Perfect music, passionate and intense.

Louise said: Lee, you bored into her soul.

Arlene said: Epic, edge of the seat action.

Nigel said: I felt it.

I thought they were going to split the voting to individuals, but they didn't. We could end up with a shock bottom six here.

The Results Show: The group dance brings an art gallery to life, courtesy of Tyce and Born This Way. A good showing from all there, the pressure off.

First group and in the danger zone - Rithy & Shane; Katie & Lee C. Bethany & Israel and Matt & Charlotte both safely through.

Second group and in the danger zone - Danielle & Luke. Katrina & Tom and Kirsty & Lee B both safely through.

Ok, well, phew - my faves through anyhow. Gut feeling before solos? Katie and Luke to be saved. Can't see the judges saving Rithy and Shane, clearly not enough support; Lee has not impressed them enough and only an incredible solo will give the nod to Danielle over Katie's past performances.

Rithy a lot more dynamic and fightability - is it enough to save her? Shane not the same intent as last week. Katie also doesn't wow me, does seem to be lacking the desire - opens the door for Danielle? Lee C with my favourite solo, energy, attitude but it won't be enough, the judges have clearly marked him as the weakest. Danielle does a bit too much prancing, hands it back to Katie. Luke completely does enough to oust Shane.

We watch Jessie J while the judges deliberate (don't think it'll take much) Ok, now what would we call this look? Liberace meets Aguilera? Cher Lloyd must be gutted that Jessie chose to breakthrough right after X-Factor. Is she sponsored by Timex?

Here we go, says Cat...

Nigel: Rithy, a lot of energy in the solo but third time at the bottom means you are the first girl to go. Danielle, terrific technique but we're searching for the passion; Katie, we believe you've been held back but the solo not outstanding. Danielle, you're the second girl to leave us.

We're unanimous in our decisions tonight: Shane, as with Rithy, third time at the bottom means you're the first guy to go. Lee, great stuff in the solo but it's not translating to other routines; Luke, you're the only guy who danced for his life tonight so Lee, you're our second guy leaving.

So there we have it, our Top Ten:
Katie; Charlotte; Katrina; Kirsty and Bethany Rose are your girls.
Matt; Luke; Lee B; Tom and Israel are your guys. And they'll all be shaken up next week!

So You Think You Can Dance: Upside Down

Bright and bouncy opener to You Can't Stop The Beat, courtesy of Karen Bruce - Matt the tapper a standout with some floor work; he must be due some hip hop soon!

Danielle and Luke reap the benefit of a Karen Hardy Paso Doble, who totally gave herself carte blanche in the creative stakes! An impressive start, intense, Luke especially strong, best I've seen him - terrific Spanish lines. Danielle a little soft in the arms - a crazy headbanger move! Music was rubbish though, so didn't engage me as much as I'd have liked, but the routine itself was stunning.

Arlene said: We have lift off ... at last, you're connecting.

Nigel said: Fiery, pasionate, choreography fabulous.

Bethany Rose and Israel have Contemporary, with some brilliant spins into Israel's arms, he's much more confident, a moving and believable routine, their best yet.

Nigel said: Courage you find in each other is obvious; simply stunning.

Sisco said: Bethany, fearless, honest, technically amazing. (Not so complimentary about Israel, whose mum yells: He's come so far!)

Alice and Charlie with a Kenrick Hip Hop in a secret agent assault course. Again with not so catchy unmemorable music, will cost. Alice great but Charlie, it pains me to say it, seemed to flag a little at the end, I was expecting more.

Sisco said: Alice, you killed it!

Arlene said: Mr Chalk and Mrs Cheese, one ahead and one behind the music meant no synchronisation.

Katie and Lee C, a Jazz number by Sean Cheesman. A real allsorts mix, some I lliked, some I didn't. Katie sometimes sassy, sometimes ungainly. Lee not so noticeable.

Louise said: Slick and professional Katie; Lee struggled.

Arlene said: My love affair with Katie Love continues.

Katrina and Tom have a Karen Hardy Quickstep to Let Me Entertain You, brilliant choreography again by Karen, utilising their ballet and tap skills to great effect. Footwork, rhythm, personality and fun all the way!

Nigel said: I didn't like the genres being mixed.

Arlene said: Katrina, you rise to every challenge, best top line I've seen, so fleet of foot.

Louise said: If I was watching at home, I'd be happy and smiling watching you.

Kirsty and Lee B and a Simeon Oysea Lyrical Hip Hop. A damn good effort, although her outfit is awful and very distracting. A little out of time in places, Kirsty struggled up from the floor work, but enjoyable.

Sisco said: Commitment and honest chemistry.

Arlene said: Dull, dull, triple dull.

Rithy and Shane, Commercial by Sean Cheesman. Both so fluid, no doubting the techniques, awesome drape lift, very stylised - maybe too much for primetime?

Arlene said: Rithy could dance the telephone directory. No, I know, it makes sense when you're talking about singing, not so much with the dancing ...

Charlotte and Matt and Dance of The Night and quite possibly the series. If the judges were scoring, this would be the first 10! Broadway, right up their 42nd Streets, a Bill Deamer routine to Sing Sing Sing - can't ever fail with that - it's fast, classy, it's got style, beautifully executed, fun, just awesome all round! Charlote reminds me of Vera Ellen; Matt of Gene Kelly. They should go out On The Town. Now. Before the magic dust wears off.

Nigel says: The embodiment of all those wonderful couples.

Arlene said: Speed of footwork, dynamic, control and rhythm.

A strange upside down night, as the title says: My fave dancers didn't impress so much, apart from Matt and Katrina, and the routines by my least faves were delivered with panache. I fear for Charlie and Rithy.

The Results: 1st group - Katie and Lee; Danielle and Luke; Bethany and Israel, all safe, leaving Charlie and Alice in danger. 2nd group - Kirsty and Lee B; Katrina and Tom; Matt and Charlotte, all safe - it is Rithy and Shane again. It's the kiss of death but I want to keep Rithy and Charlie.

Solos - Rithy with the same attitude, same solo as before - may count against her. Shane is awesome, this will be really tough for the judges. Alice, contemporary, much as expected. Charlie the only one truly exciting me. The judges deliberate while we watch The Wanted. Is it compulsoiry that they all have to have coathangers in their jumpers? Or is it my widescreen telly? *taps toes; sings along*

Nigel speaks: Ladies, it's tough but Alice you don'se seem to be making a mark and Rithy, you need to get yourself adopted to up your voting numbers. We say farewell to Alice.

Gents - Shane, you're not connecting with the audience, fabulous technique, incredible dancer. Charlie, incredible personality, chamring little scamp, wish we could mix you both together. But Charlie, you're not growing as quickly as we'd like and it is a dancing competition, so we have to let you go with our best wishes. *Sobs - my second favourite boy* Gutted.

And ooooh, shock announcement: FOUR will leave next week. I may have to restrict myself to just Matt and Katrina from now on, it'll be far too close.

Advice to them all: Sleep - eat well - rehearse - LIVE!

So You Think You Can Dance: Round Two

A Mandy Moore opener to River Deep, Mountain High with, surprise, surprise – a wedding theme! Louise appears to have raided Sisco’s wardrobe ...

Same partnerships as last week, with the exception of Stephanie and Gianluca, who lost their original partners and are now paired together.

Matt and Charlotte start us off with a Jazz number by Mandy Moore; it’s all about the cane, which they don’t drop! Dancing to Relax – power, attitude, sharp, completely different to last week – brilliant! Especially since Charlotte had taken a nasty bump to the head and had to check herself out of hospital! #heroine

Nigel said: Everything you could wish for to kick the show off.

Lee and Katie with a Contemporary piece by new-to-the-show, Katrin Hall. It’s passionate and fluid. Katie quietly powerful; Lee more raw and effective, an excellent match.

Louise said: Fluid, smooth. Lee sizzled, a perfect partnership.

Sisco said: Lee, you lived, so fearless. Katie, beautiful, organic dancer.

Kirsty and Lee B and a Bollywood number, with Move Like Michael Jackson finalist Ash Mukherjee choreographing. There’s plenty of action going on, a fun number without the emotional depth of last week, not as effective but well done.

Arlene said: Kirsty, the temptress from the temple; Lee needs to get in it.

Bethany Rose and Israel, a Simeon Oysea Hip Hop, with skateboards. Good effort by Bethany but Israel didn’t make the impact he should have in his own genre. Simeon’s choreography usually excites but it wasn’t translated as well as it should have been.

Arlene said: More fun queuing for petrol.

Stephanie and Gianluca with a Cha Cha by Katya Virshilas, a lot more dynamic for them this week, connection and energy, good performance. Just wish they’d use music I know though, would help to engage more.

Arlene said: Gianluca didn’t have a clue about the cha cha but brought the Latin spirit, phwoar!

Nigel said: Stephanie brought everything she needed to.

Katrina and Tom and a Karen Bruce Broadway to Footloose and it’s all go, Katrina’s flying again. Tom full of personality, handled the fantastic lifts well.

Arlene said: Tom has the personality of a pumpkin! (I must like pumpkins!)

Nigel said: Katrina had so much energy. Tom much improved.

Alice and Charlie with an American Smooth waltz by Katya, to Three Times A Lady. Fast becoming one of the best partnerships, so together, so endearing, so engaging, a little bit stiff but Charlie’s posture is excellent.

Nigel said: I hope William and Kate’s waltz was as beautiful as that.

Arlene said: It was all shades of wrong but oh so right.

Rithy and Shane, Hip Hop by Supple - to Mozart! With a Charlie Chaplin/Policeman theme, very creative, very inventive, I loved it. Full of fun, tight, just one little slip, quickly recovered.

Sisco said: Not enough funk but commitment to the characters.

Arlene said: Rithy a star storyteller.

Danielle and Luke with a Commercial by Sean Cheeseman, which just didn’t appeal I’m afraid. Not musical enough and it’s a dance show, if there’s no musicality they lose me. A lot of posturing, though a good dynamic between them, gelled better this week.

Arlene: I wanted a sexy show and I got it!

Nigel: Not knocked out; felt a little fake.

Nine couples danced, five were voted for (again!) Onwards to the results ... first four, assuming one couple in danger but, ooh, naughy Cat – sends them all safely through: Katie and Lee; Charlotte and Matt; Katrina and Tom; Israel and Bethany! Three out of my five!

In the next group, Danielle and Luke and Kirsty and Lee B are called safely – not good, means one of my fave couples are in the danger zone. Alice and Charlie are safe – it’s Rithy and Shane in the bottom two with Gianluca and Stephanie. A little bit shocked, thought it would be Israel and Bethany. I’m not so fussed out of the two boys, but I don’t want to see Rithy leave.

Stephanie leads off the solos with a jumpin’ jive to Proud Mary; Gianluca another strong contemporary piece; Rithy, full of attitude – should take it, going by overall comments so far; Shane, altogether more dynamic than Gianluca – and he got his shirt off.

Blue sing their Eurovision song *keeps an open mind* ... but the usual Eurovision affliction of No Hummable Memorable Chorus or Tune, just all backing track with words over the top of it. There’s always next year ... again.

Decision time for Nigel: We didn’t feel as though three of you danced for your lives ... split 2-2 over the girls, production choose Rithy, citing Stephanie’s lack of connection with the public. Unanimous for the boys, though neither deserves to be bottom two. Again, Gianluca didn’t connect, whereas Shane danced for his life.

Stephanie and Gianluca leave us tonight.

Am I the only one hoping they do away with the Commercial genre? Really not getting it ...

So You Think You Can Dance: This time it’s for real!

Apologies for the lateness of this posting, I’ve been playing catch up all week!

The first of the real nerves will be apparent tonight, as one boy and one girl will be leaving! And already the first two are on dancing on quicksand, as the lasers generally steals the show. It’s a Commercial number for Ryan and Stephanie by Paul Domain, a mix of jazz and street, pop video style. Steph impressed more than Ryan, whose transitions between moves were pretty obvious and it all needed more dynamism.

Sisco said: I thought they did brilliantly with what they were given, choreography was at fault! Ooh, controversial – but I tend to agree.

Matt and Charlotte draw a foxtrot and give it the “what’s a foxtrot?” look. Personally, I think this’ll be perfect for Matt and it turns out to suit them both. Shades of Camilla Dallerup in Charlotte, with her hair flying; similar feel to Cam’s Here You Go Again choreography with Tom Chambers in Strictly. Dancing to Just The Way You Look Tonight, Jaci Stephens and Chris Marquez – although Latin hotties – give them a gorgeous floaty number, a little more rise and fall needed from Charlotte but Matt full of swing and sway, lovely pairing, easy and bright, smiley smiley performance for all. My first vote!

Arlene said: Matt’s making the foxtrot the hottest dance in Scarborough, movie star possible, so exciting.

Lee C and Katie with Lyrical Hip Hop next, by Kate Prince. Everybody is certainly starry-eyed by the end, Katie was completely fabulous, full of personality and nailed all the moves, except for the one little slip off the breakfast bar, but we’ll forgive her that, especially after that amazing off the table spin into Lee’s arms. Tight, together, character and feeling. Brilliant routine. Another vote!

Louise said: Acting superb, believed in your story.

Richy and Shane with a Karen Bruce Broadway themed Mr and Mrs Smith! Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend mashed into Material Girl brings about a big and brassy fabulous routine; Richy’s timing is immense; Shane the perfect Secret Agent Man! Third vote out of four ... I’ll be rescuing Britain’s economy alone if this standard carries on!

Nigel said: My favourite so far! Richy proved that hip hop dancers can do anything; Shane very strong, great job, sir!

Charlie and Alice with a Mandy Moore Contemporary and They Are Beautiful together! What Charlie lacked in technique he made up for in emotion, character, attack and charisma; Alice in her element – far classier than Rihanna and Bieber! Er, that would be my 4th vote ...

Arlene said: Alice danced beautifully; Charlie, I wish I could give you the gift of technique ... your body speaks the language of dance.

Another Mandy Moore number for Paige and Gianluca, only this time it’s a Jazz to Forget You. And unfortunately, it looked like Paige forgot some of the routine – turns out she slipped and had to improvise a fair bit, leaving Gianluca having to literally think on his feet. Great spirit but become a little messy, highlight move was Paige’s spin into the splits. Nigel pointed out the slip and applauded them for being able to carry on.

Sisco said: Clumsy Paige; solid Gianluca.

Danielle and Luke have drawn The One That No-one Wants – the Samba! Jaci and Chris on choreography duty again. For me, Luke stole it there, Danielle had to work very hard on the technique so it wasn’t as get-down-and-dirty as it should’ve been, whereas he was more dynamic.

Louise and Sisco both asked: Where was the Latin spirit?

Katrina and Tom have a Simeon Osyea hip hop: Brilliant! Loved it – what is it with ballet dancers and hip hop? (see Alex/Twitch in fave dances section!) Katrina was fantastic, the tutting, the attitude, the connection and Tom had to go some to keep up but still did a great job.
Sisco said: I hate it when people make me do this *leaps out of chair and shouts aye carumba, or something similar* He was very excited ...

Arlene said: What the competition is all about!

Kirsty and Lee B draw Sarah Boulter’s Contemporary and bring themselves into contention with me – beautiful, intense movement, lyrical, emotional – a star performance from both, both shone, great partnering.

Louise said: Kirsty brought us into the stage; Lee intriguing.

Israel and Bethany Rose are given a Karen Bruce Disco, complete with major lifts (which doesn’t actually do anything for me, I’d rather see their feet moving on the floor) but for One Night Only, I’ll happily watch Israel’s boogie woogie classic opening! The routine overall was a great spectacle, what with all the throwing around - but I want to see what else Israel can do!

Nigel said: Exuberance ... look at the happiness in the audience.

Results Show:
Big opening with a Gothic style vampish Toxic, terrifically choreographed by Beth Honan; awesome. So who’s safe: Charlotte and Matt; Katie and Lee C; Katrina and Tom; Danielle and Luke; Kirsty and Lee B; Richy and Shane; Israel and Bethany Rose; Charlie and Alice! Whoop, all my faves safely through! It’s Ryan versus Gianluca and Stephanie versus Paige. The audience seeing the same as the judges!

Stephanie’s sizzling solo samba; Ryan, a snappy semi-disco piece; Paige, acrobatic and explosive, which gets my vote over Stephanie; Gianluca , more intense contemporary solo – but think he may pinch it on past performances and judges comments.

Jennifer Hudson with a funky, bluesy Feelin’ Good, with added strings, powerful and dynamic. Considering the tragedy in her life not so long ago, she’s awesome.

Judgement time: Nigel said Gianluca was let down by his partner and Ryan wasn’t memorable; Paige, a fine fireball of talent all went away while Stephanie served it up, showed how a sexy Latin dance should be ... Paige and Ryan leave us tonight.

So who impressed? Those I’d already chosen – Matt, Israel, Charlie and Tom are now joined by Lee B, whereas the only girl I’d picked out previously, Richy, has competition now from Katie and Katrina - with honourable mentions to Kirsty, Charlotte and Alice!

Bet you can’t guess what tonight’s theme is?!

So YouThink You Can Dance, Week One: Just For Fun!

It's just for fun cos no-one, no-one, is going home tonight! They're letting us get to know them first, whoop! So it's a major league group number by Mandy Moore up first, to Please Don't Stop The Music; it's crisp, tight, brilliant, big big smiles all round - Matt the Tapper stood out I'm pleased to say.

Jazz number for Shane, Bethany Rose, Luke and Katie to Wake Me Up Inside - highwires, dark, dramatic, passionate, sexy vampires. "Set the standard flying high" - Arlene

Lee C, Contortion Charlie, Richy and Israel Hip Hop to .... The Archers!!!? Ha, a mash up with It's Like That. They had the moves and the comic characters, great job, well worked together. "Must be like Nigel's house" - Sisco; "Hip Hop and theatre merging together" - Louise

Danielle, Stephanie, Katrina and GianLuca have contemporary to Bridge Over Troubled Water, Fluid and together, emotional, played to all their strengths. "Uplifting" - Nigel

Broadway - Tappers Tom and Matt; Paige, Cur-Lee B and Charlotte, another mash up, recognising Anything Goes. Fantastic tapping, I think we're (me, Monkseal, Nigel) are all agreed: they needed a showcase on their own - not really fair on the other three.

Kirsty, Ryan and Alice, a jazz number to Crazy and Ryan stole it for me, don't understand the judges comments, singling him out later, thought he looked pretty impressive. "A bit too smiley" - Louise. They were aiming for the emotion of the song - Crazy!!

Boys versus girls to finish! Contemporary for the Boys to It's A Man's World, Sarah Boulter choreography and she gets their shirts off them! The women of Britain would hereby like to thank Sarah Boulter for her services to the sistahood. Lovin' the spotlights, the attitude, the machismo, stunning. "Bodylines; lighting; camerawork; excellent choreography" - Nigel

Kevan Allen choreographs a jazz number for the girls, Fighter, didn't have the same impact for me - but it seems these routines have been aimed very particularly at a definite market! Rithy still the only girl standing out, not the trained technique, more raw and living it. "It's all about the legs" - Arlene.

Cat puts the judges on the spot; who's hot, who's not? Sisco declines - let's give them another week! But the others single out Danielle and the Bridge Over Troubled Water contemporary as their faves; Ryan, Shane, Tom, Luke, Paige and Charlotte need to work harder. We're off and running!

So You Think You Can Dance Series 2: Choreography Camp/Top 20

The last two days, with the 58 dancers left having to master Broadway, a Group Choreography number, Contemporary and then a final solo!

The Broadway routines see them split into cool boys and sexy girls, with John Barrowman joining the panel. He's looking for characterisation, personality and showbiz more than technique.

Ryan, Tom and Luke are punchy, full of energy that doesn't flag and it earns them a standation from the panel - they're safely through to the next stage! James, Hiphop Lee and Tapper Matt, jazzy Lee and Charlie the contortionist all join them.

Over to the girls, Hip Hop Rithy, Jazzies Bethany and Megan, Ballerina Katrina and Contemporary Katie all go through. Back to the boys, Israel surprising them; Bruce needs to man up. He gets cuddles from Arlene and a masterclass on Manning Up from Sisco and John. I'm sayin' nuffin ' ... cue Rocky music. We're down to 40 already!

Sorting them out - group choreo has to be done late that night, take your groups and your music and forget sleep. Who can take the pressure: they break or ... they don't! Daniel, Bethany, Katie and Luke make the mistake of trying to be clever and the routine is pedestrian when it should have been controlled mania. "The worst piece of choreography to exciting music I've ever seen" states Nigel. They made it through, just.

Israel's choreography, on the other hand, was universally praised, he and the now manly Bruce, Megan and Gemma go through. Richy, Ryan, Kirsty and Lee all impressed, while Shane, GianLuca, Danielle and Paige produced Nigel's favourite routine. I just wish we could see all of them properly!

A Travis Wall and Nick Lazarini contemporary routine can't split the boys any more; they're all through to the solos. A couple of girls go but the majority make it through. The judges deliberate and seem pretty together on who they want; our Top 20 are:

Tapper Matt Flint; Latin Stephanie; Tapper Tom; Disco Paige; Contemporary Alice; Jazzy Shane; Jazzy Leigh; Contemporary Katie; Jazzy Luke; Disco? Kirsty; B-boy Lee; Contemporary Danielle; Contemporary GianLuca; Contortionist Charlie; Hip Hop Rithy; Ballerina Katrina; Contemporary Ryan; Jazzy Bethany Rose; Break dancer Israel.

It's hard to pick out any favourites with the tiny snapshots we've had, but I'm looking forward to seeing what Matt the Tapper, Israel and Contortion Charlie can do!

So You Think You Can Dance: Week Two Auditions

And we begin with the weirrrrrdest dancer ever ... Charlie Wheeler, contortionist break dance! Being contemporary and ballet trained he gets away with it! 'It' being weird but fantastic, we have to see what else he can do, he's so ... so ... unique, that's the word, thank you Nigel. Stunning. Exciting. Arlene reckons kind of special. Louise is intrigued, Sisco gives a reality check - could be a circus legend - it's a Golden Ticket!

"A bright bouncing bobbly kid" - Arlene

More Golden Tickets: Bethany Hanson, her secone time around, being number 21 last year. A mixture of styles not to my liking, didn't find her particularly musical. Regan, Danielle, Megan, Shane, Daniel Ovel - sure we've seen him before, in Move Like Michael Jackson.

Ryan Jenkins through, contemporary, emotive, all his family history in that. Lyrical, strong, beautiful lines and spins. Some almost popping and locking moves in there. A yes from Nigel, magnificent lines, brilliant, bringing every emotion and technique, looking forward to seeing a happy dance! A Golden Ticket from Arlene, a tear from Dad, a tear from Ryan, a tear from me. What a wuss.

"Bringing every emotion and technique" - Nigel

Ben Woods, body popper, practising in the shadows, groovy, great timing and musicality, cheeky, The male version of Flashdance, says Arlene, adorable. One of those people you want to do well, says Louise. Callbacks for him, choreography may be an issue.

"Incredible musicality, keep it driving through." - Arlene

JJ & James, popping, locking, breaking ... and Morris Dancing, lol. Let's Groove, loving the hanky work, both through, just. Sophie Cook, lyrical jazz contemporary fusion mixture, quite hard lines, not musical enough for me but she gets a callback.

Fernando Rivero, acrobatic contemporary, former Spanish world champion gymnast. Great timing, with an Olga Korbut moment at the end - but not enough dancing! A split vote gets him through! Cue Abba ...

"Rhythm, feeling and charm" - Arlene

Scott Rayson - I'm not sure he isn't my dentist. Martial arts meets dad dancing, shocking posture, lyrical hands but no ... Sisco got the giggles. Unusual says Arlene. He's had a lovely day. Mary Swift begins with hairography and Nigel's left the panel. Who told her she could dance? Rightly, Nigel says it loses the integrity for the real dancers. Take it to BGT, where they'll put you through. Age is immaterial; they're both rubbish.

Callback results: Body popper Ben doesn't make it through but is offered a free masterclass by Sisco. Lee the Tapper also misses out; JJ and James and Sophie all make it. Fernando was on it! First time ever in choreography, stormed it! Auditions are finito!

Choreography Camp #1 - Solos: The ones they thought would be top are dropping down ... three let go already!

Hip Hop routine by Simeon, Alexandra Burke joins the judging panel and eleven more are cut! We're down to 56! Three routines left for next week before we find out the Top Twenty!

"There was magic in the room" - Alexandra

So You Think You Can Dance: Auditions 1

The hunt is on again for Britain’s Favourite Dancer, as Season Two of SYTYCD gets under way – the intro clips are amazing, how tough will this be? The competitors are after £50k in cash and the chance to dance in Hollywood. More importantly, they’re after hearing the phrase “Come get your Golden Ticket” from the panel – the Not-so-nasty Nigel; Able Arlene; Lovely Louise and the Sardonic-yet-sanguine Sisco.

And first up is fantastic Matt the tapper – tapping to R’n’B – liking this already ... hat work, rhythm, style, cheekiness, athletic, creative ... liking him A Lot! Oh. Yeah. Baby. Diggin’ the sliiiiide. Arlene calls him a feast – Golden Ticket numero uno, come get it while it’s hot!

He’s followed to choreography by Samba sizzler Stephanie “hot to trot” says Louise; Contemporary Bruce; Street Daniel. Another contemporary tapper, Lee, is On Fire, according to Arlene! Lyrical and stylised Katie also straight through “a real delicacy with strength and power” says Arlene, along with the seriously musical hip hopper Rithy.

Club dancer (as in club singer, but dancer – get my drift?) Shanelle and mum Cordelle, the carnival mother and daughter – it was never going to happen, no finesse, uncontrolled and I can’t see either making it through. I’m surprised Shanelle gets the Call Back - she won’t nail a routine in the time they have - she doesn’t, mum’s not having it but they’re shown the door. Self taught Tomasz wants Cat’s job, he’s got the personality but while having the judges dancing in their seats, isn’t called back. Neither is Paulo, even with a poem for Arlene. Hannah and Andres, salsa – how fast are their feet? But not enough movement elsewhere. Hannah out; Andres called back but doesn’t make it through to choreography.

A plethora of hip hop, with Golden Tickets following the call backs for Spinning Charlotte, she’ll need to bring more though; partially deaf Kirsty, she of the fantastic energy but very traditional, club dancing – a challenge in more ways than one to make the top 20; contemporary dancer Paige, agile, emotive, a little unsteady at times but enormous potential!

My faves from this lot: Matt; Rithy; Lee. Welcome back, SYTYCD!

So You Think You Can Dance Series 2

The first of two audition shows starts this Saturday on BBC1 - they've now updated the website after initially telling us April!

Saturday, 12 March 2011

So You Think You Can Dance Series 2

The second series of So You Think You Can Dance will begin on Saturday 16th April.

Returning are Cat Deeley presenting, with head judge Nigel Lythgoe once again accompanied by pop singer turned presenter Louise Redknapp, the ever-youthful Arlene Phillips and choreographer/dancer Sisco Gomez.

Nigel hasn't changed the format of the British series like he did with the American one and there will once again be 10 boys and 10 girls, with two voted off each week. The public vote decides who goes through; the judges confer and decide who goes home. No deadlock nonsense or controversial-for-the-sake-of-it decisions in this show!

If you'd like to be in the audience you can apply for tickets online at the BBC website from now until March 17th.

South Bank Sky Arts Awards - Tuesday

The South Bank Sky Arts Awards are upon us on Tuesday, having found a new home – note the ‘Sky’ slipped in there – but still with Master Melvyn at the helm. (Sky Arts channel, 9pm).

Nominated in the Dance category are: Abstract ballet Asphodel Meadows by Liam Scarlett; Hofesh Shechter’s Political Mother; Akram Khan’s Gnosis

And in Pop, the nominees are: Plan B for The Defamation of Strickland Banks; Foals for Total Life Forever; Tinie Tempah for Disc-overy.

I’m no expert in the arts but I thought I’d take a moment to chat about someone from the world of dance who crept into my consciousness last year and whose work I wish I could see more of: Matthew Bourne.

Matthew made an impression on me during the first UK series of So You Think You Can Dance last year, when the last five boys had the chance to showcase their skills via his stunning interpretation of Swan Lake. Considering there was only one natural ballet dancer among them it became one of my favourite routines from the whole series.

Then of course, I found that snippet where he praised Tom Chambers – would you believe, even now, there are still those who can’t admit that Tom can dance and seem to think SCD Series 6 was won by the wrong person! Crazy, isn’t it? How can you argue though, with someone of Matthew’s calibre?

Matthew, as you see, isn’t nominated in this year’s South Bank Awards; I expect they’re saving him up for a lifetime achievement award! As ‘probably the world’s most successful choreographer’, he’d get my vote!

'Three Minutes' with Harry Shum Jnr and Stephen 'tWitch' Boss

If you haven't seen this, it's a must - it's not dancing, but they are two of the top dancers in the world today. I'd swear the lightsabre battle could be put to music, the lyrical movement in their bodies is so evident! There's an interview with Harry here too.

Snippets: Kara and Artem, Julianne Hough, Davina McCall,

The News of the World reports that Artem's mum Anna is as smitten with our Strictly Come Dancing winner too! She said: "She (Kara) looks really great. They make a beautiful couple which fills my heart with pride and joy." The couple pretty much confirmed last night in front of millions that they are indeed a couple, and Kara says they get on brilliantly and are looking forward to doing normal things like going to the cinema or for a meal, after being stuck in a studio for three months. Photo and quotes courtesy of the NOTW.

Ex-Dancing With The Stars professional and future Cheryl Cole sister-in-law (possibly) Julianne Hough's new video has been banned for being too sexy! Choreographed by So You Think You Can Dance's Adam Shankman - decide for yourself - I thought it was no worse than many many others and tame compared to the X-Factor final!
An interview with Davina McCall ahead of Got To Dance 2.
