News in Brief: SYTYCD, GTD, DOI,
Interview with Got To Dance judge and Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt.
"Dad" dancing an evolutionary device according to scientists! They can test the theory by having a Strictly special in 20 years time with Ramps, Austin and the rest!
Philip Schofield confirmed Spice Girl and Strictly Come Dancing semi-finalist Emma Bunton as the new judge on Dancing on Ice - and sprung to her defence before she was subjected to an Alesha-like backlash - she's there to judge the dancing aspect, as is Jason - Karen, Nicky and Robin take care of the skating!
Dance owned the last decade, this review says so - and is predominantly speaking of ballet - but I'd suggest all forms have upped their profile, certainly in the last five years!
Age is no excuse from now on! Check out Mrs Paddy Power!

News in Brief: SCD, DWTS, SYTYCD, DOI, JD, GTD.
Erin Boag may be out of the competition, but she's still very busy! Find out what she gets up to during the week with her sneaky backstage diary. Find out what the dancers eat (especially a very messy Vincent) and what she gets up to outside of Saturday!
Rachel Stevens and Vincent are reunited for their ‘Christmas Special’ routine and are both delighted to be dancing together again! Chris has revealed he is in complete and utter shock at reaching the semis! To get this far and against so many other wonderful dancers was a real surprise. Ricky really wants to show the people at home that he is having a great time and really wants to be here - he has said that he definitely does not want to leave the competition at this stage. Find out more on the official Strictly website.
Dancing With The Stars 'Triple Threat' Julianne Hough (dancer, singer, actress!) has released a dance-yourself-fit DVD to add to the rest of them gathering dust, I mean, residing on the shelves for the post-Christmas fat-burn-off push.
Actor Gary Lucy is looooking gooooood for the start of Dancing on Ice in January, partnered by reigning champion Maria Filipov. That rumour is pretty much confirmed then!
MJ has posted the performance and results for So You Think You Can Dance.
And Just Dance, Sky's reality rival for the UK SYTYCD, has been re-named Got to Dance - click here to see a trailer featuring Davina - no, that's not her somersaulting off the table! Am tempted to get Sky now - only because of Ashley, mind!

News in Brief: SCD, SYTYCD,
The Strictly Judges also have a Panto photo shoot in the RT!

News in Brief: SCD, SYTYCD,
Laila has revealed how the competition has now stepped up a gear for the quarter final and neither she nor Anton can quite believe they have made it this far! I suspect they're keeping an oxygen tank close by for Anton, in case he makes the dizzy heights of the Semi's!
Ali has had a mischievous side come out of her this week - she even tried to bite Brian’s finger when he pointed at her and then ruffled up his hair. You see, Brian - it's rude to point!
Chris has said that he is ecstatic to have made it through to the quarter finals and that the standing ovation they got after the Charleston made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up!
Ricky has revealed that the support he’s getting from the public and his family is really keeping him going, plus the fact that everyone is so desperate to win the glitter ball of course! Let's hope his man flu is just the 24 hour type!
Trav's taking a well earned break, so here's MJ with the SYTYCD rundown and videos, plus the results. It seems filming for our version is well under way now, with Cat and Nigel doing a Len and Bruno in reverse - we already know Nigel can be a Mr.Cranky Pants, but I'm sure the lovely Cat will still be the dancers' darling.
Strictly Quote Dancing came to my attention on Twitter, so that's another item to add to my Xmas list!
Looking to holiday in the UK next year? Warners have teamed up with Strictly for short break themed weeks between February and July - just book it and tell the other half you're taking them on a mystery tour - and then feign surprise when you get there!
Strictly Lawrie Holloway, featuring Lance Ellington are appearing in Gateshead tomorrow night!

I've changed my mind about a Strictly rollover ...
1. Ali and Brian have a bye through to next week. Give the poor girl a break, this is her third injury.
2. Run the Saturday show as normal, but, after the remaining four couples have danced, announce that instead of voting to save one of them, you are voting to reinstate one of the previous couples, from a shortlist compiled by the judges (Zoe, Phil, Ricky - top average scorers previously eliminated?) We're ensured a decent dancer returns, but we control who that is, giving the couple a decent shot at their second chance.
3. The phone lines open as normal, there's a Moment of Truth as normal. Delight for the reinstated couple, delight for us bringing back someone to ensure a three couple final (all being well with Ali next week) delight for the BBC - still a cliffhanger finish to the show. Worse case scenario is Ali unable to continue - in which case, reinstate the second couple in the phone vote - get them to train all week, just in case. A Win/Win/Win scenario, yes?
In other news, Trav's Thoughts are in on the Dancing With the Stars Final Performance Night, and the Results Night - I think I heard Pam's "Squeeeeee" from here ...
MJ gives us the rundown of this week's So You Think You Can Dance, with videos.

News in Brief: There's a lot ...
Camilla has left the jungle - the reigning Strictly champion was unsurprisingly left exhausted due to the lack of food on offer, having a higher metabolism than any of her camp mates. Knowing that the food dwindles even further as the show goes on, it's a sensible decicion - nice to have you home safe and well, Cam.
Strictly itself will be reverting to a two part show on a Saturday night for the final three weeks, to allow the public more voting time, and not, as no doubt our red top friends will suggest, because they're scared of X-Factor and/or viewers and/or Arlene and/or the BBC Trust have complained and/or it's all falling to pieces cos Brucie was ill blah blah blah blah ...
Here's a nice in-depth article with Ricky and Erin and a review of Alesha's own live show.
In Dancing With The Stars news, Kym and Maksim will be joining Burn The Floor next week and former contestant Melissa Rycroft joined the Professionals for the Bee Gees You Should Be Dancing performance.
Trav's thoughts are in for this weeks So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing With The Stars- you need to scroll down to the fourth post and then work back up to read them all in chronological order - or you could flit about like I do, reading bit and watching the vids! The main most important thing you need to know is ... oh, no, I won't spoil it for you!

News in Brief: SCD, DOI, DWTS,
Ali and Brian are excited about having the opportunity to let their hair down this week - there's plenty of flirting, hip swinging and fun in rehearsals!
There have been many points of amusement for Katya in training so far this week, with Phil sniffing his armpits, chewing carrots and blowing his nose throughout rehearsals. Katya has also told him that he looks a bit scruffy and would probably dance better if he dressed a bit nicer for training!
Chris has read up on the Paso dance and discovered that the man is in charge! He took advantage of this by telling Ola she would soon be calling him Mr Hollins! I bet that didn't last long though ...
Natalie is still loving being part of the show since she has reached the halfway point but didn’t quite realise it would get so serious!
According to Anton, he has had shorter relationships than the 12 weeks he has been dancing with Laila! Laila said “Anton and I are sometimes like a married couple. We shout and scream at each other and then he tells me I’ve got to be sexy!” Towards the end of their Rumba routine, Laila started to feel dizzy. Anton, of course, thought this was because she was getting intoxicated by the Rumba and his irresistible charm!
Ricky Groves spoke of his disappointment at losing the public vote and said that you can never tell what will happen, as the last time when the judges slated his dance he still got through! The words Erin used were 'down and out' - come on now, it'll all be different again this week!
Ricky and Natalie had a lot of fun in rehearsals yesterday - Ricky performed a BeyoncĂ© impression which, whilst incredibly entertaining, didn’t impress Natalie apart from giving her the giggles. That clip will probably be tucked away for the end credits on ITT! The fast-paced routine of the Jive seems to be taking its toll on him though, there's a lot of panting, leaning against a wall out of breath and lying flat on his back! Now that's official and not anything to do with rumours touted by the red tops, people - I know how your minds work, now stop it.
In other SCD news, Karen Hardy coaching Phil and Kate from 'The Apprentice' on Live from Studio Five; they'll perform in front of a judging panel on Friday.
Fancy a cruise? Of course you do, and even more so if it's free and you can have dance lessons with Darren and Lilia!
Camilla is a busy busy bee - not only has boyriend Kevin Sacre confimed on Twitter that she's definitely in I'm A Celebrity etc, she's also set to take over from Mr. Motivator as the fitness guru on GMTV!
According to the gossip rags, Vernon Kay is leaving ITV and coming to the Beeb - to take over from Brucie on Strictly! I like Vernon actually, and the only other person I've thought so far that would do a good job is Paul O'Grady. Like I said, that's the gossip rags ...
Ali, Natalie and Zoe have also signed up for the next Strictly tour, joining Ramps, Austin and Kelly, leaving just two places, another from the current crop and one more from an older series presumably. Who would you like to see?
Torvill and Dean say that Dancing on Ice is the toughest reality show on telly - and I'm not going to argue, you wouldn't catch me doing it! Here's a more in depth article with them - ignore the headline, it's not an attack on Strictly *rolls eyes*. It's also reported that Boyzone's Mikey Graham will be taking part as a tribute to Stephen Gately, and that Heather Mills may possibly drop out, due to the pain it's causing her.
Trav's Thoughts are in on both DWTS and SYTYCD, enjoy!

Dancing On Ice has had more celebrities leaked! Apparently Hollyoaks Keiron Richardson, former Corrie star Danny Young, Eternal's Kelle Bryan, actress Emily Atack, actor Jeremy Sheffield, and Sinitta will be joining those already signed up - I make it about 48 celebs so far - better make sure I'm doing nothing all day on a Sunday from January!

News in Brief - DWTS, SYTYCD,
My recommendations - Donny *swoon* and Kym's Charleston, full of fun and his timing, again, is incredible, plus Mya and Dmitry's Lambada needs an X-rating, lol - no, it's brilliant, enjoy!

News in Brief - SYTYCD, SCD, DWTS
It's official - Cat Deeley will host the UK series of SYTYCD!
Harry Connick Jnr and Spandau Ballet will both be appearing on Strictly Come Dancing - what I'd love to know, is when Jean-Claude Van Damme joined Spandau Ballet ... here's a lovely interview with Ola.

News in Brief: DWTS, SYTYCD, DOI, SCD
Dance coach Richard Marcel to perform a salsa demonstration on Strictly Come Dancing this weekend; he's also had a hand (feet?) in many a dance we've seen. I've never heard of him, until now!
Dancing on Ice news - apparently Heather Mills has signed up for it! In the same article, it reported that Sinitta has auditioned "three or four times" and never made it *casts mind to some of the competitors * Just how bad can she be!
So You Think You Can Dance latest auditions.

News in Brief - SYTYCD, SCD,
There's a phrase that comes to mind, involving a pot and a kettle but I'm resisting ... not content with trying to steal Strictly Come Dancing's thunder by opting for a Sunday night results show - and then complaining when the Beeb switch the results back to an all-in-one Saturday show (you know - how it was at first, only, instead of one solid two hour show, we had the show, then Casualty, then the results) Simon Cowell has apparently decided to put together a reality dance show! For Saturday nights in January, no doubt! Jeez - where's the media outcry over that then? I demand someone asks questions in the house! What's the number for that Liberal Democrat bird?
Am I sounding off - you would too, if you had to read all the garbage I've filtered through today! I'm sending out an SOS - Save Our Strictly people! Now it's 'bad' food joining the 'beleagured' Strictly bashing - along with the sacking of Arlene, the two hour show, "stumbling from crisis to crisis" I mean, goodness - 250 official complaints about Alesha! 250 - imagine that, out of all those millions that watch. Come on, Strictly bosses - start fighting back!
PS: Message for Alesha: Don't let the barstewards (bump'n') grind you down!

New Strictly site; new SYTYCD; new partners
The new series of So You Can Think You Can Dance is on its way to American TV Screens, hopefully there'll be some coverage on one of our channels, although I shall at least be able to post the vids.
And according to various Twitter pages, some of the Dancing With The Stars contestants are already in training, whilst others haven't even met their partners yet - I'm guessing their message boards will be full of the ol' "Unfair Advantage" cries quite early on then!! In the meantime, it's been leaked that Tom De Lay has been partnered with Cheryl Burke, who has a fantastic record in the competition.
