What did I say before - and 30 people complained about The Voice's 'live' recorded results show. 30! And it's headlines all over the press. Pathetic, isn't it. 30, out of 10.3 million. I'm leaving it there ...

Tess Daly is in Hollywood, according to The Sun, hoping to turn her debut novel, The Camera Never Lies, into a film.

And, Alesha Dixon In Shock Return To BBC Because Obviously, Presenters and Actors Can't Do Different Programmes On Different Channels At The Same Time Because That Would Be Weird, Like Freelance Writers Writing For Different Publications Or Something. Oh.

Dancing on Ice Twist!

The promised twist alluded to by Philip has been announced - a series of head to head performances will take place on Sunday, with the judges choosing which of each pairing will be safe from elimination!

The producers have matched the contestants with their nearest competitors from Movie Week's leaderboard - which means Jorgatt versus Mattina! I don't envy the judges on that one!

At the bottom end, it's Cookey versus Semmy, which, if they play to Chemmy's strengths this week, should see her through without much trouble. Elsewhere though, it's closer than close, with Romark versus Vindy, Dannifer against Sebianne and Andi taking on Mattene. Toughie.

In other news, Alesha is her normal down to earth self on the red carpet and Ola talks about life as she knows it.

Alesha Dixon's Search for Streetdance Stars

Former Strictly Come Dancing champion and current judge, Alesha Dixon, will be searching for Britain's top Street Dance stars with a new show on CBBC coming soon, Alesha's Street Dance Stars. The winners will be invited to appear alongside Alesha at Dance 2011 at Manchester's The Lowry, which is open all day for families to go along and join in.

In another interview, Alesha says she couldn't judge the show and send home a 10 year old - so dancer Turbo, choreographer Kenrick Sandy and So You Think You Can Dance semi-finalist Lizzie Gough will do the honours. Perri Luc Kiely and Jordan Banjo from Diversity will mentor the youngsters in the show which begins on August 22nd, with two airings, 9am and 5pm.

On the subject of Street Dance, did anyone else see the fantastically talented Peridot crew on Channel 4 Sunday night, scooping the Street Dance XXL title (they were totally the class of the crews) and then taking on the Americans - and beating them! Good luck to them in their full time careers as dancers!

Is she, isn't she: Sharon Osbourne says Kelly has been signed up for the next Strictly Come Dancing, but Kelly says she hasn't. I personally don't believe she could be, having come third in Dancing With The Stars, it would be very unfair to the other contestants.

News in Brief: SCD, DOI, GTD

Reports are surfacing that Strictly may revert back to a two night format, but with a live results show on the Sunday night - the problem before was that it was recorded and the result was always leaked. The two hour plus shows at the beginning of Series 7 were a bit of a mission but the cash for a live Sunday show may not be available. I'd imagine they'll see how it goes with So You Think You Can Dance having the results in a separate show on the Saturday night and maybe revert it back to that - how it was originally! In the olden days, you know, before the bandwagon of slagging it off started to roll ...

So You Think You Can Dance (UK Stylee!)

The final fourteen have been announced and you can see their profiles here, with a mini clip of the choreography camp audition. Now, it may be that I'm still in Move Like MJ mode, but the Hip Hop dancers stood out for me, possibly because they were so different to the other 12!

Nigel Lythgoe says in that interview he wants to be reborn as 'Nurturing Nigel' - but he's failing miserably, judging by this VT! Did make me chuckle though. Check out the bad and the good auditions while you're there too - it's a testament to the standard we'll see, that those at the end didn't make it through.

There was still a cricket connection in Strictly, even after Phil was out! Chris played cricket for Oxford and his batting figures rival those of Darren and Phil - and only a hundred hundreds or so below Mark!

There's a new Wii game out, so you can dance your way to fitness, which just might make it's way onto the list I've still to leave lying handily about somewhere, best get a move on with that.

I'm really not sure if I want to see this or not - Davina McCall has recreated Flashdance, for the new series Just Dance on Sky. And will also be giving it some on a recreation of Beyonce's Single Ladies. I'm not going to comment, I can wait. Is Davina looking to be the UK Ellen De Generes?

Strictly has upset a professional dancer now! Not one of theirs, I hasten to add. But really, Michael, I've been to far more theatre shows since I got really into Strictly than I ever did before. Have you thought of reducing your ticket prices? Adding in a comedian? Because 'Ballet Boyz', which I'm sure is a fantastic show, is very specialised - a night out at a Strictly show is much more of the variety type event. But I keep an eye out now for anything dance related at my local theatres and - cost and childcare permitting (because we all know, don't we, working mums, what a major military operation it is, trying to have an evening out) will go along and support it. Which I'd never have done before.

Bette and Darcey Look Forward to Strictly

Exciting times for Strictly fans this weekend with the introduction of legendary ballerina, Darcey Bussell, as the fifth judge and Bette Midler as the musical guest.

Darcey Bussell, the Royal Ballet’s youngest ever principal ballerina, will have a critical say in the outcome of one of the closest contests in the show’s history and believes that the show has had a truly positive effect.

“It’s brilliant,” she says. “It has got people who perhaps didn’t believe they had an interest in dance to go out and try it. They can appreciate that everybody can improve and when people see others having fun they want to get up and join in.”

American singer, actress and comedienne, Bette Midler, who will be returning to the show to sing ‘The Rose’, says: "I had such a great time last year, that I'm coming back to Strictly again this week. I was shocked that Bruce showed that clip (Bruce Forsyth’s Big Night where Bette performed ‘Leader of the Pack’) of the two of us from 31 years ago ... shocked that neither of us has changed one bit!"

In other Strictly news, there's a chance to win tickets for the Live Tour at the MEN Arena; Alesha is pleased that the furore over her appointment to the judging panel has died down; news of another short break featuring the Pro dancers; Ballroom dancing can be bad for you! But only if you're divvy enough to not treat it like any other physical exercise!

We all know Strictly Come Dancing is good for you - now it's official! Interesting to note in there that Jade did dance again afterwards but the BBC physio refused to let her perform! Better not let a certain forumite see that little titbit any time soon ... bye, bye for now, bye!

News in Brief: There's a lot ...

Diversity are hitting the tour trail, with a show built around routines where toys come to life! I cannot wait - but I'll have to, because it doesn't start till March! And I'm liking the sound of the X-Factor meets Britain's Got Talent Show (scroll right to the end!) on the Isle of Man - with George Sampson and Signature joining Diversity! (And - Stavros Flatley!) The London and Essex group are also joined by George and fellow streetdancers Flawless in a 3D film called - wait for it - Streetdance! But there's ballet dancers in it too! 2010 looking good!

Camilla has left the jungle - the reigning Strictly champion was unsurprisingly left exhausted due to the lack of food on offer, having a higher metabolism than any of her camp mates. Knowing that the food dwindles even further as the show goes on, it's a sensible decicion - nice to have you home safe and well, Cam.

Strictly itself will be reverting to a two part show on a Saturday night for the final three weeks, to allow the public more voting time, and not, as no doubt our red top friends will suggest, because they're scared of X-Factor and/or viewers and/or Arlene and/or the BBC Trust have complained and/or it's all falling to pieces cos Brucie was ill blah blah blah blah ...

Who else doesn't give a damn about the whole Arlene/Alesha business? The BBC Controller's reasoning sounded good to me - Craig the nasty one, Bruno the joker, Len the ..., well, Len - Arlene was the one to go. And all those people now saying how wonderful and fair she was seem to have completely forgotten the 'Dancing Pig' comments and such like. She was out of order on a number of occassions last series, so I'm really not bothered. Ageist? Sexist? Whatever, I'm a woman and frankly, my favourite shows all seem to have those accusations levelled at them - Have I Got News For You, Top Gear - maybe I can just take a joke? Or maybe I was a bloke in a former life. Anyhoo - the judging panel could be made up of Goldilocks and The Three Bears for all I care. Fact is, regardless of who's judging, the public will still vote for who they like best and the nastier the judges are to the worst dancer, the longer they'll stay in the competition. I've read a line about "changes to the way the votes are allocated" which worries me somewhat, so I'll be checking that out. You may or may not know, I've been on me hols and have been cut off from civilisation for best part of this week, so I need to investigate!
