Dancing on Ice: Sharron's Point of View

Since Dancing on Ice themselves seem intent of continually trying to justify Jason, here's a very neutral and fair interview with Sharron, courtesy of Digital Spy's Alex Fletcher, where she tells her version of events. To her credit, the only criticism she makes of Jason is his childishness.

However, she goes into much more detail on her blog, with some very justified comments about Jason. If you're insistent that what you saw on Sunday was the full story, this may well change your mind. All seems very reasonable and not at all disrespectful. I got this link from the Digital Spy forum - I wonder if the Dancing on Ice team know how unimpressed the majority of the fans on it are with their handling of this and share my view of the whole incident?

Is that aimed at me Scatty? Lol ;o)

I never condoned Jason's vile twitter comments and tbh I don't think the show is either. It is quite a difficult position for them to be in. Jason has been reprimanded in the past for his comments, but he's never gone as far as that before!

  2. Course not! But I think lots of people who aren't aware about the Twitter comments believe everything said by the DOI team - my problem with DOI is they haven't censored him over those comments and in fact gave him more airtime on Friday justifying himself - Sharron's comments show it wasn't just a case of her changing everything like we were told! And I think that's pretty unforgiveable. Maybe I'm more able to believe that about Chris, as I saw the documentary when he had Jayne in tears - he copped a lot of criticism for that. I probably defended him then, I think it was their return to the Olympics in 94 so clearly there was pressure - but DOI isn't anything like that pressure, or shouldn't be anyway. Maybe Chris and Jayne should relinquish some of the choreography and music choices to the professionals to match up with their celebs, like on Strictly, they won't have to work as hard then or feel slighted when things change. But the music choices may well be a whole separate post Foxy! I've held my tongue over those out of respect for T&D, but the gloves are off now, I'm afraid :0

  3. I suppose the past times he was told off it was only mentionned through Phil on This Morning, but this is a bit more serious I agree.

The couples are consulted on coreography and music though (music less so its true), we've seen it on the vt's before. Like when Hayley and Dan came up with an insert, showed D&T who loved it and told them to slot it in, and we've seen clips of the celeb/pro saying something along lines of "we could do....." or "what about a......". So it's not as rigid with them as it would seem I think.

With you on the music! Bit 50/50 - some fab choices and then some real stinkers. I've told you before what I think about Careless Whisper! Had to stop myself pressing mute lol :o)
