Latest potentials for the new SCD series: Coronation Street's Michelle Keegan, recently retired Olympic skeleton bob champion, Amy Williams,  TV presenter Sian Williams, Britain's Got Talent winner, Ashleigh Butler minus Pudsey) and model turned bodybuilder Jodie March, although they're also linking her with Dancing on Ice.

Along with winner Leanne Mitchell, The Voice artists, Vince Kidd, Tyler James and Bo Bruce have all signed record deals. While you're waiting for those, a compilation album, featuring the semi finalists and finalists has been released. And they've picked the best of each of them, including Get here by Ruth, Ordinary People by Jaz and Free Fallin' by Max. Hannah Berney is also hoping to get some of her own music out there and is going live too.

Radio 2 has lined up a series of dance documentaries, which will include Len Goodman presenting Swinging at the Savoy and The Gene Kelly Story, Arlene Philips giving us the lowdown on dance troupes and Stewart Lee exploring the world of Morris Dancing!

Dancing on Ice may see an overhaul of the judges, as neither Emma or Jason have yet to be offered a contract, according to reports, with Louie Spence lined up to take one spot. Ian Walker is being touted as a contestant.

And Reggie Yeates will be joining Holly Willoughby on The Voice.

Business Secretary Vince Cable is to partner Erin Boag in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special - and as a social ballroom dancer performing an American Smooth and a Foxtrot, the only common denominator with Our Ann will be politics! It's also apparently been confirmed that Fern Britton is taking part, but no news on who she or John Barrowman will be partnered with, though Kristina Rihanoff has said she has met her partner!

Arlene thinks we still miss her on Strictly - sorry, not with comments like "salsa ... like cold soup" and "feet treading treacle" “She started off like a flying bedspread and at the end Anton was mopping the floor with her.” How is that constructive criticism? Give me Alesha looking for the positives, any day of the week. Arlene, you're best in So You Think You Can Dance, where you do give constructive criticism and praise where it's due, where you're dealing with proper dancers. A brilliant interview with choreographer Matthew Bourne - he's a huge Strictly Come Dancing fan who agrees with me! About everything - what Strictly is, Arlene, Tom Chambers, Ann - I love you, Matthew! Apart from the boys on SYTYCD last year doing a snapshot of Matthew's Swan Lake, I've not seen a full production - that will definitely be rectified in the new year!

Strictly Come Dancing is still the numero uno of reality shows, when it comes to exporting success to the world.

Arlene Phillips' Alana Dancing Star books are set to be released in October, with a further two titles in January and then another two in May. I wish I had a junior school age daughter; I got away with buying Harry Potter, but I think books with cut-out-and-dress dolls in them might be pushing it a bit!

Now, I'm not one for gossipy stuff - but go beyond the headline in this piece and have a jolly good read about Derek and Julianne Hough!

Rumour is that So You Think You Can Dance's Adam Shankman may be directing a Michael Jackson themed Glee episode or maybe not! Either way, it may be the event of Season Two. And some of the Glee cast are signed to do The Simpsons!

And OH YES! Nigel Lythgoe is bringing SYTYCD to the BBC in January (auditions beginning in Oct) and having seen footage of the American counterpart, I'm convinced it won't be a dance version of X-Factor; we'll only see the absolute cream of who they find, to fight it out for the title of Britain's Favourite Dancer. So from January we'll have SYTYCD on the Beeb on Saturdays, Dancing on Ice on ITV on Sundays and Just Dance on Sky (which I don't have and won't be getting so I'll just wing that one) *Hugs self with excitement* Arlene Phillips is set to be on the judging panel for SYTYCD and rumours are they'll bring Cat Deeley back over to present; Davina will be presenting Just Dance.

And it’s a pretty darn impressive line up of champion sports stars – Joe Calzaghe, undefeated boxing World Champion, paired with Kristina Rihanoff; Martina Hingis, Grand Slam Tennis champion and former world number one is with Mathew Cutler; Jade Johnson (who came close to winning the Sport Relief Strictly with Roger Black), the Commonwealth and European Silver Medallist has Ian Waite; Richard Dunwoody, the champion jockey dances with Lilia Kopylova – and Phil Tufnell, lol! Aw, bless, I love Phil and he did his bit for England! He’s teamed with new dancer Katya Virshilas.

As usual, the Beeb have managed to achieve a fine variation of something for everyone so we have actresses Zoe Lucker, dancing with James Jordan, fellow ex-footballer’s wife Laila Rouass, and Anton Du Beke *crosses fingers or Anton*, Lynda Bellingham with Darren Bennett; Ali Bastian and Brian Fortuna, while Natalie Cassidy pairs up with Vincent Simone.

The Actors: Ricky Groves is with Erin Boag, Ricky Whittle with another new dancer Natalie Lowe and Craig Kelly has Flavia Cacace.

Presenter Rav Wilding is paired with the final new dancer Aliona Vilani, whilst Chris Hollins with Ola Jordan. Finally, estranged wife of the Rolling Stone’s Ronnie Wood, Jo, has Brendan!

I’ve never known so many of the rumours to be true! And with changes to the format too – for the better for a change! The first two weeks there’ll be a Friday night show with eight couples performing a waltz or tango, then on the Saturday they’ll perform a cha cha or rumba – so we get the chance to see them perform both styles before deciding our favourite – and those less adept at one style or another aren’t on the backfoot straight away. The judges scores are combined, we vote, then the dance off is still between the bottom two as before. The only slight concern is in the event of a draw – the Beeb haven’t made it too clear how it’s decided who goes into the dance off, just that no-one is safe! You know what- I’m not even going to worry about it – it’s a fab line up and those first two weeks will be very close. Like I said: WooHoo! It’s Back!

Arlene still has a role to play, having apparently been offered a choreography role for group dances and pundit appearances on It Takes Two.

So You Think You Can Dance Canada have also announced their Top 20, who'll vye for the title of Canada's Favourite Dancer.
