Lily for Strictly; Laila on Standby; Dancing Round the World

Lily Allen will perform 'Not Fair’ - the cut version presumably (or mine!) - on Strictly Come Dancing tomorrow night, accompanied by the professional dancers Matthew Cutler and Aliona Vilani. The mind boggles! Are they going to be barn dancing? A group hoe-down? Lily, who is currently on tour, is a huge Strictly fan and really looking forward to performing on the show.

It will be an action-packed show as world-renowned ballerina and Strictly guest judge Darcey Bussell will perform a surprise dance with pro dancer Ian Waite. The cast of hit musical Hairspray will also perform ‘You Can’t Stop The Beat’.

It promises to be a thrilling semi-final, as there will also be no Dance-Off between the lowest-scoring two couples. After all the couples have danced, the judges' points and the public's votes will be added together. The couple with the lowest combined score will leave the competition. If there's a tie, the two couples with the highest audience vote will be saved.

Apparently Laila and Anton have been put on standby in case Ali's foot prevents her from dancing. "We have contingency plans" said a BBC man. So why not do the same when Jade went out then? Huh? Huh? Phil in for longer, a three couple final. At least hopefully they'll remember this idea if it happens again next year.

SYTYCD marathon; Tango World Champs; Channel Hoppers Anonymous

There's a So You Think You Can Dance marathon before the tour kicks off on 20th September, featuring the Top 10 dancers from Season Five, giving sneak previews of their routines and with numerous prizes up for grabs.

A Japanese couple, Hiroshi and Kyoko Yamao and have outdanced the locals and won the traditional salon category in the World Tango Championships in Buenos Aires. Click here to read more info on the competition and for a gallery of photos - I warn you, it's a big one - but I couldn't access the videos unfortunately - and once you try to you can't seem to get rid of what appears to be an advert trying to pop up, so be warned!

And we think we have it bad with ITV and BBC competing for our affections on a Saturday night - dance fans in America, we sympathize - looks like the channels for the main three dance shows are putting them on head to head - DWTS v SYTYCD v America's Best Dance Crew!
