Strictly It Takes Two: Choreography is King

Tonight ... Felicent, Goldina, Jamela and Karen Hardy's Choreography Corner x2!

Goldie (Going for Goldie) and Kristina (From Russia With Love) were disappointed with the judges - emphasis was on fun and entertainment, particularly with the ripples ...mmm ...er, sorry. Goldie surprisingly erudite in his assessment of the differences between amateurs and pro dancers. Movie montage - Metro Goldie Mayer: From Rihanoff With Love ... King Kong ... Rocky ... mieow! Foxtrot training, he feels like a sack of King Edwards.

Choreography Corner #1 That's one impressive CV Karen (Hardy Perrenial) has! Golden rules: 1. Use the music to the best of its ability 2. Use the strength of your celebrity 3. Entertain with and connect to, the audience. Fantastic weekend - loving the props, will lift choreography to another level. Matt - leading his lady, in week one! Felicity - showed off flexibility; Patsy kept safely in hold. Paul has clever Ola, using props, making him feel safe; Scott - raunchy, strong, dominant, different; Goldie should've stayed with Kristina. Pamela - stole the show, dancing in harmony out of hold, risky, brilliant.

And Pamela (Just what the doctor ordered) and James (Got her in the Pam of his hand) agree everything came together to make a great dance - even with Billy laughing at them in training. Brilliant attitude from Pam, James is bad again (but he's not really!) Salsa training and she's going for it, yay!

Choreography Corner #2 Friday a WOW and they did it again on Saturday. Ann - didn't disappoint; Tina - Jared came down to her level, needs to bring her up to his (Clauds: She's amazing, he's only 11!) Kara - full, competitive choreography; Gavin - clever, simple, nailing technique early days; Michelle - Brendan goes straight for the top, the mezzanine! Peter was nervous, petrified; Jimi - 110% movement, in Flavia's arms would be 100%, better.

Felicity (Life is good) and Vincent (Cha cha charmer) a bit concerned that they were out first (she called a taxi!) but not scared of the judges - they only said what Vincent had been saying all week! Training a concern - she can only count to 6!

Strictly It Takes Two: Quip Central!

Tonight - we've recovered the sofas, Paulla and Widdyton will try them out. Behind the scenes and Scott's hairstylist would look right at home in Albert Square; Jared-teasing and Erin sabotaging Gavya!

Paul (A wand-ering star) says he pictured the judges as spitting image puppets and could barely contain himself; Ola (Strictly Dancing Queen) sticks up for her man, he didn't get anything wrong. They're adorable in training. Foxtot next week; it's going well, says Ola. "Who are you doing it with?" asks Paul!

Judges comments, condensed. Craig in the house (Handy-man: it's an armography thing) Overall, celebs are fantastic, loves the new pros, pairings are great. Matt and Pamela impress with the arms, desperate to see Widdyton's salsa!

Chris Hollins' take too (see what I did there?) Peter -good hands, agile, true gent; Gavin - great turn of speed, loves going forward, let's hope he loves going backwards and side to side too; Pamela - good with her head *ouch*; Felicity - oozes class; Matt - enthusiastic, can get down and dirty; Ann, tactical genius; Tina - small and nippy; Kara - loves the pressure of competition; Goldie - exuberant, disciplinary problem; Pasty - from absolute beginner to lethal weapon; Paul - veteran showing touches of magic. Don't mess with the boss! Michelle, big signing from the US; Jimi the bubbly boy and Scott - a players' player.

Widdyton! Ann (Right Foot Forward) has a fantastic attitude - and replies "no-one's ever seen Dumbo dance before" to Clauds assertion that the world was waiting. Anton (Beke in business) says they changed the beginning of the routine, taking out the splits and cartwheels! Re the standing ovation, Ann says: They hoped we'd finished, they'd had enough! Re next week, there'll be things in the salsa that don't belong there - like the waltz, lol!

STOP PRESS: X-Factor Twist

Apparently, the big twist is that four wildcards will be introduced at the start of next week's show - Cheryl was spotted in Treyc's home town, so it appears she may be in after all. Fingers crossed for Paije and Yuli!

X-Factor: The Final Twelve

Dannii's Dudes: Paije or Aiden? Damn, one out already and it's Paije. Unbelievable. Nicolo goes through - didn't I say? Didn't I? I hate it when I'm right. Matt gets the nod over Marlon - who I bet is wishing he'd stayed in the Over 25s! Matt my pick to make it all the way.

Louis' Lot: Yuli - No? Jeez, another performer gone. John is through *cheers* Storm and Mary join him. 2/3 not bad!

Simon's Stitchups:
The Reason or F.Y.D - it's F.Y.D! F.A.B.
Twem or Diva Fever - oooh, neither!
Belle Amie or Husstle - way to go, 2/2 as Belle Amie go through!
One Direction or Princes and Rogues - he's gone with One Direction! 3/3, thank you Simon!

Cheryl's Cuties:
Rebecca (is someone getting married?) or Anastacia - Rebecca, it had to be.
Katie, Keri, Raquel or Gamu - and I know the answer, though I don't want to admit it, but it is Katie. Oh, Cheryl, what have you done? You've put the most irritating contestant ever through at the expense of some great talents there.
And I think we know Cher will take it over Treyc. *shakes head sadly*
I think one original talent with likeability factor is fantastic (Rebecca) and that will take her through - but all three will struggle to belt out a song when it comes to the themed weeks.

The ones I'll be watching for: Matt and Aiden; John; all the groups; Rebecca. And watching their moody shots - they've already taken Rebecca's classy, individual look away and turned her into Leona ... wouldn't like to guess at who'll be the first to go.

X-Factor - Judges Homes

Let's see then - the over 28s are going to Ireland and the boys to Australia - who on earth could their mentors be? Hm, it's a toughie *furrows brow*

Dannii's Dudes, with Natalie Imbruglia helping out.

Nicolo - sometimes I like, sometimes I don't. So no.
Tom - Love his voice, needs to mature.
Paije - Oh. Yes.
John - not strong enough
Karl - nice, but not original enough
Marlon - possibly shafted by the song choice; didn't see enough
Matt - Oh. Yes. #2
Aiden - My third Oh. Yes.
Paije, Matt and Aiden sing from their hearts. This I like. Surprisingly easy choice for me, but horrible feeling they'll put through Nicolo instead of one of them.

Cheryl's Cuties, with Will.i.am alongside her; is he daring to ignore Bruno's advice?

Rebecca - sings Fireflies with a lot more confidence, exquisite. Will's a fan.
Gamu - Cry Me Out, the third different style she's sung so far, made her own and nailed
Annastacia - doesn't work for me.
Raquel - like the quality of her voice.
Keri - emotional performance, like her.
Katie - really can't stand her. Lives in a dream world. Drama Queen, gets on my nerves, the whole breaking down thing felt staged - you just know she's going through because of the amount of exposure she's getting. Which really pees me off, because there are five other girls with fantastic voices and no histrionics. Don't fall for it Cheryl, please!
Treyc - should have gone through last year, can totally deliver the performance.
Cher - not as impressed, appears completely fragile. Again, I won't be happy to see someone go through who can't handle it, at the expense of others who'll deliver.
My definite would be Rebecca, with any two of Treyc, Gamu, Keri or Raquel - or Cher, if she can hold it together.

Louis' Lot - the prodigal daughter in the shape of Sharon Osborne returns.

Stephen Hunter - not for me.
Yuli - the voice and personality - a definite
Justin - Elven magic might work on Louis and Sharon
Wagner - nice man, not pop star material
Mary Byrne - so emotive when she sings.
John Adeleye - Come on! Engaging, a performer, super voice - has to go through, just has to, Louis!
Elesha Moses - Best I've heard her, makes it look hard work though.
Storm Lee - talks too much, can't take to him personally, nice-ish quality to his voice until the crescendo and then it didn't quite work.

So my three: Mary, Yuli, John. But this is Sharon and Louis, so it's more likely to be Mary (Irish, remember!?) Storm, Stephen or Wagner!

Simon's Stitch-ups. Sinitta - what is she like! (still rankles that she went out too soon in Dancing on Ice!)

Twem - work so well together, well rehearsed, great arrangement - if only they could sing.
Belle Amie - I like their version of Faith very much - for one week's work together, impressive.
Princes and Rogues - had been looking forward to hearing more, this was ordinary, rubbish song to boot - possibly not their fault; judges choose the songs, I believe.
Husstle - nope, wrong song choice again.
The Reason - that's more like it, nice vocal, one a bit dodgy.
F.Y.D - standout performance, lovely harmonies, fantastic arrangement and performance of Beggin. Hard work and practice pays off - well done, excellent.
Diva Fever - "I'm not academic" - says the Uni lad. Well, huh? I take it I'm paying a grant for you to go - get a job. Git. That annoyed me very much. Along with the over-camping it up. Unfortunately, they are quite engaging when they perform.
One Direction - Liam is cool, Harry outstanding, another quite weak, but overall, could do well.

F.Y.D and Belle Amie my choices, would also like to hear more of Harry. But think Diva Fever will get the nod, going on exposure again. Who knows where Simon and Sinitta will go with it.

We'll find out later!

Strictly Come Dancing, Week 1, Part Two: Topsy Turvy

Eh? Brucie just nicked my line from last night!

Jimivia with a cha cha and he's fab, love the movement and rhythm, a bit too jiggly but Flav's having the time of her life; she'll have him polished for next week. Len: Came out, high energy, great rhythm, fabulous; Alesha: Performed it, energy, enthusiasm, bit wobbly; Bruno: Can sell it; Craig: Like scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz ... great isolations, technique and rhythm, great energy, fantastic. Score: 26

Peterin with their waltz, a nice start, tensed a little bit but stayed with it, good effort. I didn't like the move where Erin dived between his legs though, not very elegant in a waltz. Alesha: Rocky start, smiled throughout, well done; Bruno: Great relief when you finished, wobbly; Craig: All too cautious, potholish; Len: Adequate standard for week one, footwork good, movement round the floor. (Final) Score: 21 Sorry, couldn't resist it ...

Brendelle - she's a bit of a nutter isn't she? Cha Cha suits her personality, though it's all gangly arms and legs, she's singing along, full of fun, completely mad and completely out of control - she just tried to snog Brucie, lol! Bruno: Like dancing on stilts ... have to control limbs; Craig: Off balance, knees flexed, disappointed (Brendan's letting him off this week!) Len: Fatal combination - long legs, short skirt, bad technique; Alesha: I love you Michelle, character, full of life, energy, you put on a show. Score: 24

Gavya and demure Katya is back with us again - and what a lovely surprise this waltz is, warm and romantic, fluid - rise and fall, excellent effort and lovely song. Craig: Simple and effective, brave and good attempt; Len: Better than good, footwork good, created rise and fall; Alesha: Diamond in the rough, pleasantly surprised, genuine, heartfelt; Bruno: Thought you'd be awful, really went for it the correct way. Score: 28

Jarina have a confident start to their cha cha but nerves got to her and she fluffed it, a real shame. Also, the routine lacked content I thought. And that dress is awful. A shame because training showed her to be lyrical and rhythmic. Len: I liked it but lost energy, push her more; Alesha: Cute as a bottom, didn't blow me away, chin up; Bruno: If you go wrong, carry on; Craig: Timing and rhythm, leg and hip action all there but uneventful. Score: 24

The Widdyton Waltz, realistic but determined - and this shows perfectly why they don't have to be technically great for us to be entertained - Ann enjoyed herself immensely, which meant we did too! Alesha: A lot of love in the studio for you, a wonderful job Anton; Bruno: Like watching the Ark Royal taking on the stormiest sea and making it to port; Craig (The Submarine, quips Ann!) A bit local authority - you got through it. (Ann: If you think that's bad, you should see the salsa!) Len: Anticipation ... a wonderful job, entertainment throughout. Score: 17

Artara's cha cha is technically very good, great recovery from the wardrobe malfunction, the sleazy aspect/leopard print didn't do much for me, if I'm honest, thought they tried too hard. Bruno: Meiow, Catwoman, come and take me; Craig: Fabulous, controlled, clean and precise; Len; Came back strong, great job; Alesha: So hot together, best dance of the night. Score: 30

Robbie and Gary sing about Toys R Us ... actually, it's kind of growing on me, they're like a mini modern Brit RatPack.

The overall leaderboard: Mattiona and Jamela 31; Artara 30; Scattalie 29; Gavya 28; Jimivia 26; Brendelle and Jarina 24; Felicent 23; Robsy 22; Peterin 21; Goldina 20; Widdyton 17; Paulla 16.

Faves tonight were Gavya (which I wasn't expecting!) and Jimivia, the girls didn't impress like I thought they would! Salsa and foxtrot next week will shake things up nicely! Until then, It Takes Two is back from Monday!

Strictly Come Dancing, Week 1 - Sprinkled With Fairy Dust!

And I'm already loving the opening credits and flashy new set! The audience on the left just got an eyeful of Tess they weren't expecting though! Tina looks like she's stepped out of a music box, Pamela's frock is simply lovely, Felicity looks stunning and Katya's lost the demure look she had last year and gone a bit slutty!

Felicent out first then for a Cha Cha to Sunny. Sexy Fliss, modest Vincent, it's fab stuff, she's a bit stiff, but for week one, it's confident, cheeky and they've a lovely partnership. Not for the first time tonight, Brucie's making me chuckle! Len: assurety, confidence; Alesha: right amount of sex kitten, really good; Bruno: good balance of sexiness and cheekiness; Craig: flat-footed ... liked the storytelling, cleanliness of the routine was spot on. Score: 23

Scattalie next. HyperScott and SuperNat with a stunningly choreographed sexy waltz, strewth! Would have liked to see Scott smile though. Len: Hold, movement, posture - all good. Tad on the raunchy side, very well done; Alesha: Hot, spicy, moved around effortlessly; Bruno: Assurance of a true leading man, frisson of sexuality running through; Craig: Puppet hands ... dangerously romantic. Score: 29

Goldina with the obvious joke from Brucie, but still made me laugh! Cha Cha to Tik Tok. Bit nervy, needs to stop larking about in training. Not polished but fun, didn't impress as much as I thought he would. Alesha: Fun, a bit disco, put the work in; Bruno: Too loose, needs to be more tight and technical (and he's up, copying the ripples!) No, not those sort. Craig: Awkward, unshaped hands, dodgy arm placement - liked the sycopated time move; Len: Hardly a shrinking violet, great rhythm. Bruno's up again ... Score: 20.

Robsy, the not very confident Patsy with the man to change all that. In a waltz to When I Need You she coped well with the speed, just behind a couple of times, needs to relax. Lovely choreography from Robin. Bruno: Relax, enjoy it, trust your partner; Craig: No body contact, upper line not good, learn to spot; Len: Great potential; Alesha: You look beautiful, work on breathing. Score: 22

Mattiona and a cha cha to Ain't No Mountain High Enough and he shows exactly why he's the bookies favourite - are they flik flaks onto the floor?? Total WOW factor, I loved it - a right proper show off but very sweet! Totally unfair on the others of course, but so what! Plenty of oomph, not shy, totally into it! Craig (stern face): You sir, are one to watch! Len: Best cha cha of the night; Alesha: So impressed, loved the costumes; Bruno: Brilliant, well done. Score: 31

Jamela with a beautiful, traditionally romantic waltz to If I Ain't Got You. Typically classy James stamped all over it; Pamela carried away, lost in the moment. Everything about it so, so gorgeous. And fantastic timing! I want that dress. Alesha: Breathtaking, gorgeous energy, wonderful; Bruno: Graceful, fluid, radiant; Craig: dreamy, romantic; Len: fantastic impression. Score: 31

Paulla - here we go with the first catchphrase joke! A cha cha to what else, but 'Could It Be Magic and I love that he's singing all the way through! I'm smiling, very sweet and lovely - and watch those feet, I said he had nimble feet - very light! He'll have won a lot of fans with that. Bruno: *unfair bit* but funny; Craig: Best part was the magic box ... best move on before I get technical; Len: sprinkled with fairy dust, light and dainty, it's entertainment; Alesha: well done for coming out and giving it a go. Score: 16

Phew! I'd say Robsy and Goldina are the ones in danger; Mattiona and Jamela would have got my votes; Paulla would be safe! Thought Len would comment on all the mucking about at the start of the dances but no - the Dancing With The Stars influence, I like. An engrossing first show - I've proof: a stone cold cuppa! Second part 6pm tomorrow, don't be late!
