News in Brief: SYTYCD, SCD

Katie Holmes would love to see husband Tom Cruise as a judge on So You Think You Can Dance! Take a minute and click the link through to Katie chatting to Cat about the Dizzy Feet Foundation and how she became involved with that and therefore SYTYCD. Ignore the misery guts who wrote the piece, Katie has a lovely voice and the performance is a very happy way to waste a couple of minutes! More about the Dizzy Feet Foundation.

An interview with Debbie Allen - and an interview with choreographer Mia Michaels.

First Canadian SYTYCD winner, Nico Achembault has landed the role of Nureyev.

A lovely interview with Alesha - her side of the stories for a change!

Karen Hardy at the Dance Against Hunger Ball.

Joe Calzaghe rescues military hero and George Cross holder Chris Finney from an insurance call centre. I thought the initial headline meant from a burning building or something, but frankly, working in a call centre is worse, much worse. Trust me.

Darcey Bussell is Godmother to P&O Cruise Ship Azura - for a moment there, I thought she was going into a cruise ship panto!

Anton and his significant others!

Tommy Blaize and Dave Arch are appearing at the 606 Club on 7th Decemeber.

The full line up, including partners for the tour have been released - see here.

Introducing the SCD Professional Dancers, with some nice photos of waistcoats.

We all know Strictly Come Dancing is good for you - now it's official! Interesting to note in there that Jade did dance again afterwards but the BBC physio refused to let her perform! Better not let a certain forumite see that little titbit any time soon ... bye, bye for now, bye!

  1. Couldn't agree more re the call centre thing *shivers at memory* - horrific! :o/

It was quite widely reported about Jade's two physios conflicting. Her athletic coach said she could dance and the BBC one said she couldn't. Think it was inevitable that the shows producers would go with their own physios opinion, though very disappointing for Jade I imagine.

Cried on saturday when Natalie went out and then again last night at ITT. I'm absolutely gutted! :o( There wasn't anyone else with her joyous approach to every dance. Looking forward to seeing her on the tour, even though she's dancing with Darren, not Vincent :o)

Team Cola all the way now for me! :o)

  2. You know, potentially they could finish third on the leaderboard, if Laila's salsa isn't good enough - which would see Cola straight through on the public vote, regardless of where Ricky and Ali finish - and I fancy either of their chances against Laila in a DO - keeping my fingers crossed I get the final three I want!

The only problem for Cola is some of their fans think voting for Laila will help them (trying to vote against Ricky and Ali) but it won't - they could inadvertently put Laila over Chris!

Personally I'll probably vote for the one at the top of the board and Chris, since I'm going to have to sacrifice Ricky or Ali this week. I think Ricky has two dances that will be popular though, whereas Ali, unless she can nail the tango attitude, may not. I don't think there's much to choose between them, dance wise and popularity wise. And I think Cola can surprise everyone with their samba, like Matt Dawson did.

Having said all that, if Lainton come out and give us a showy, exciting Smooth and a decent energetic party salsa, I'll be in a win/win situation as I just want to be entertained!

I'm quite glad to have not been so partisan this year, makes for an altogether more relaxed viewing experience!
